WAYNE, Neb. -- Wayne State Volleyball, the number one ranked team in the nation, defeated Chadron State in three straight sets Tuesday night, winning 25-17, 25-16 and 25-18.

CSC's season record falls to 5-5 overall and remains 1-1 in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference play. The Wildcats improve to 9-1 overall.

Wayne State led for the entirety of each set.

The hosts hit .272 in the victory, while the Eagles finished with an attack percentage of .104.

Mayson Fago, a senior from Evans, Colorado led Chadron State will nine kills. Her attack percentage was .133.
Lexi Hurtado, a graduate student from Aurora, Colorado added eight kills.

CSC's setter,
Kendyl Kirkwood, had 20 assists.

Three different players ended with double-digit digs for the Eagles. Kirkwood, a junior from Fleming, Colorado and
Alondra Hernandez, a junior from Provo, Utah, each had 11.
Rylee Greiman, a graduate student from Windsor, Colorado recorded 10 digs.

Hurtado and
Aiyana Fujiyama, a junior from Wahiawa, Hawaii, had three total blocks, apiece.

Maggie Brahmer, a junior from Pierce, Nebraska, led both teams with five total blocks for Wayne State.

Chadron State has their home conference opener this weekend when they host Western Colorado on Friday and Fort Lewis on Saturday.

Friday's first serve will occur at 6 p.m., while Saturday's is at 4 p.m. Between sets one and two on Saturday, Jennifer Luatua, a member of the Chadron State 2023 Athletic Hall of Fame Class will be honored. The Hall of Fame ceremony will follow at 7 p.m.
