Zimmerman, Haug Lead Softball All-RMAC Honorees

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Lauren Zimmerman capped her historic career with an All-RMAC First Team selection at third base while pitcher Tori Haug earned a Gold Glove award as the RMAC announced their softball all-conference teams and special awards for 2025.

In addition to Zimmerman and Haug's selections, junior Aliyah Rothstein and senior J'lyssa Martinez were each named All-RMAC Honorable Mention.

Zimmerman earned her first career first-team honors in her senior season, moving up from a pair of second-team selections in each of the past two years, first as a utility player in 2023 and then as the second-team third baseman in 2024.

The Reno, Nevada native was one of CSC's most consistent performers all year long, batting .378 (13th in RMAC) with an OPS (on-base plus slugging percentage) of 1.020 while appearing in every game for CSC. Zimmerman led the team with 10 home runs, which ranked ninth in the RMAC, and with 42 RBI, which ranked 12th in the league.

She was even better against league opposition, batting .394 with nine of her 10 home runs and 38 of her 42 RBI in CSC's 44 games against RMAC opponents. From March 28 through April 13, Zimmerman put together a streak of 11 consecutive games with at least one RBI.

Zimmerman's inclusion on the first team is also a crowning achievement for her sustained career success. The senior has put together three consecutive seasons (2023-2025) with 10 or more home runs and 40 or more RBI. Zimmerman ends her career as Chadron State's all-time career RBI leader with 143, breaking that record on April 13, and third in career home runs with 34.

Tori Haug's Gold Glove win in the circle makes it three consecutive years with a Gold Glove winner for Chadron State softball, after alum Bailey Steinke won at shortstop in 2023 and current coaching assistant Jessie Henchenski won in the outfield in 2024.

Defensively, Haug put together a perfect fielding percentage of 1.000 in 25 chances, with 20 assists and five putouts. In the circle, Haug made 24 appearances and started 22 games for the Eagles, accumulating a 5.83 ERA and a 10-14 record in 117.1 innings pitched.

It is the first Gold Glove honor for Haug and the second RMAC awards mention for the Commerce City, Colorado native, who was previously an honorable mention All-RMAC selection in 2023.

CSC's two honorable mention selections this season both primarily played in the outfield. Aliyah Rothstein, who previously won honorable mention in 2023, enjoyed a breakout season, batting a career-high .345 with two triples, a home run and a team-high nine stolen bases. Rothstein was also perfect defensively, completing 44 putouts and throwing out three baserunners without making an error.

J'lyssa Martinez earns the first honorable mention selection of her career after splitting time between left field, center field and catcher for the Eagles. Martinez hit .372 with a career-high and team-high 12 doubles. She ranked second on the team in on-base percentage (.459) and third in RBI (26).

Around the league, the major awards went to CCU's Elyse McMullin (Player of the Year), Black Hills State's Laci Peskey (Pitcher of the Year), Colorado Mesa's Jessalyn Gallegos (Freshman of the Year) and Black Hills State's Ashlyn Englehorn (Coach of the Year), who earned the honor after leading BHSU to the first RMAC Tournament appearance in program history.

A total of 26 student-athletes representing nine institutions have been named to the 2025 Softball All-RMAC teams. Colorado Christian, Colorado Mesa, and MSU Denver led the way with five selections each, followed by Black Hills State with three honorees. CSU Pueblo and Colorado School of Mines each earned two spots, while Chadron State, Fort Lewis, UCCS, and New Mexico Highlands rounded out the list with one selection apiece.

Seven institutions are represented among the nine spots on the RMAC Softball Gold Glove roster, led by CSU Pueblo with two selections. Chadron State, Colorado Christian, Colorado Mesa, Fort Lewis, MSU Denver, and Regis each earned one spot apiece.
