MANHEIM, Pa. – Chadron State men's wrestling took home a program-record nine Scholar All-American awards from the National Wrestling Coaches Assocation (NWCA) on Monday.
The nine Eagles earning the honor are
Torry Early,
Grady Fox,
Keegan Gehlhausen,
Skyler Geier-Dodson,
Reese Jacobs,
Dominic Joyce,
Caleb Nadig,
Brandon Paredes and
Mason Villwok.
It is the third consecutive season winning an NWCA Scholar All-American award for
Brandon Paredes, and the second career honor for
Torry Early and
Reese Jacobs. Paredes was previously named to the RMAC All-Academic Honor Roll on March 27, joining Fox, Geier-Dodson and Joyce.
Chadron State's nine selections are an improvement over six selections in each of the past two seasons and are the most in the 14-year tenure of CSC head coach
Brett Hunter.
Student-athletes are eligible for the honor by competing in four or more events during the 2024-25 season and having a 3.50 GPA or better. The GPA eligibility requirements are lowered to 3.25 for student-athletes who qualify for nationals and 3.00 for student-athletes who win All-American honors on the mat.
