BILLINGS, Mont. – Klara Kleinig shot 2-over 74 and sits by herself in second place on the individual leaderboard while Chadron State women's golf is also in second place out of six teams after one round at the Yellowjacket Fall Invitational at Lake Hills Golf Club in Billings, Montana.

The Eagles shot 24-over 312 as a team. They are nine strokes behind leaders and hosts Montana State Billings and four strokes ahead of RMAC competitors MSU Denver and South Dakota Mines, who are tied for third. Black Hills State and Spokane CC round out the team standings.

Kleinig was remarkably consistent, with 13 pars, two birdies and two bogeys during her round and only a double on No. 7 preventing an even-par round. Kleinig's 13 pars were the third-most of any of the 36 golfers competing on Sunday.

Lauren Knapp shot a round of 6-over 78 and sits tied for ninth place on the individual leaderboard while Macy Kleve and Brooklyn Tychsen each shot 80 and are tied for 15th. Kleve was the individual medalist on this course last season, with a 36-hole score of 6-over 150 and rounds of 77 and 73. This year's event is 54 holes.

Tychsen excelled on the course's par 3s, hitting even-par on all four par-3 holes at Lake Hills in round one. Tychsen's even-par round score on par-3 holes was tied for second-best in the field.

Taegan Bach served as CSC's fifth golfer and is tied for 28th place after shooting a round of 88.

The field will tee off for the second of three 18-hole rounds between 11 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. on Monday.
