COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Brandon Paredes and

Alongside Paredes and Villwok,

Chadron State is one of only three institutions with multiple selections to the All-Academic First Team, alongside Colorado Mesa (three) and Western Colorado (two).
Paredes, a senior out of Tucson, Arizona, has a 3.68 GPA as a biology major and has earned a first-team spot in 2026 after two years on the honor roll. A four-year starter at CSC, Paredes compiled an 11-11 record this season, competing in all six RMAC duals and NCAA regionals for the Eagles.
Villwok, a sophomore out of Elkhorn, Nebraska, has a 3.85 GPA as a business administration major. With the First Team selection, Villwok adds an academic accolade to a breakout season that saw the 197-pounder win a regional championship and take third place at the national championships, winning All-American honors. Villwok had a 21-5 record this season and was also an on-the-mat First Team All-RMAC selection at 197.
Out of CSC's honor roll selections, Geier-Dodson has earned a selection for the third consecutive year while Gillette and Nadig have earned honor roll accolades for the first time.

Ivan Smith, Jr. of New Mexico Highlands was named the RMAC Men's Wrestling Academic Athlete of the Year. Six RMAC institutions were represented on the first team.
Each institution's athletic communications directors nominate student-athletes who academically maintain at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average, along with the other criteria for the Academic Honor Roll, for recognition on the First Team Academic All-RMAC in each sport. The league's athletic communications directors for that sport vote to compose the First Team Academic All-RMAC and select the Academic Player of the Year. They are not permitted to vote for their own student-athletes.
