2011: Started three games and saw time in all 11 during the fall … Usually made his presence felt while serving primarily as the blocking back … He managed 18 yards on 15 carries and added 20 yards on three receptions … He also recorded four tackles while playing on special teams … Will be the starting full back when Chadron State doesn’t start a tight end … “He’s in really good shape and he knows his assignments well,” offensive coordinator Chris Stein said.
2010: A bruising runner who rarely goes down on the first hit … He made the most of his carries at the fullback position, rushing for 228 yards on just 43 carries (5.3 average) … He ran for over 30 yards in five different games, including a career high 55 against the University of Mary … Added 10 receptions for 75 yards out of the backfield, as well.
2009: Was probably the surprise of the spring when he ran for 70 yards and a touchdown during the spring game … He didn’t go through preseason camp but still had a successful redshirt season.
High School: Prior to CSC, his only football experience was on club teams in Puerto Rico … Previously attended the University of Puerto Rico branch campus in his hometown.
Personal: Came to Chadron State because of his friendship with Jan Karlos Medina, another native of Puerto Rico who is a lineman with the Eagles … He’s involved on campus and wants to teach middle school math … His nickname is “Pudge” … Son of Maria Martinez … His wife’s name is Yanaira Torres … Born June 16.
