Biography

2011: One of two offensive linemen who started every game … “He’s our consistent leader on the offensive line,” head coach Jay Long said … Had a strong season at right guard and has played in 22 games during his career … Helped the Eagles’ running backs rush for nearly 150 yards a game ... Chadron State also averaged over 230 yards through the air … RMAC All-Academic Honorable Mention.
2010: Played in seven games at right guard … Named to the RMAC All-Academic honor roll.
2009: Played in four games at guard.
2008: Redshirted during his first season at CSC.
High School: Ratcliff played on some of Illinois Valley Central High School’s best teams … During his junior year, the Ghosts finished 9-1 and in 2007 they finished 8-3, which included the school’s first-ever playoff win … He was selected to the NCIC All-Conference First-Team and he was also on the Peoria Journal Star’s All-Area Team … He also received the “Team Above Self” award from his teammates … In addition to football, Ratcliff participated in wrestling and baseball.
Personal: He’s participated in Relay For Life and was a member of a Peoria anti-smoking group, Reality Illinois … Heard about Chadron State’s football program from former head coach Bill O’Boyle’s brother, Denny, who is the athletic director at Illinois Valley Central High School ... An education major with a 3.66 GPA … Son of Chris Ratcliff and Mike and Dena ... His mother, Chris, died in February after battling cancer … Brandon has a memorial tattoo on his right arm to honor his late mother … He has a sister, Brooke, and a brother, Bryce … Born April 16.
