2022: Bryar DeSanti was promoted to full-time assistant coach in 2019 after three years as a coaching assistant in the Chadron State program. He also picked up the role of recruiting coordinator in 2020.
DeSanti joined the CSC football program in 2016 as a coaching assistant in charge of the running back position He switched to tight ends in 2018, and took over the receiving corps duties in 2019.
Under DeSanti, in 2019, two CSC wide receivers, Tevon Wright and Cole Thurness, finished among the top five in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference for receiving yards, with Wright leading the league in receptions and receiving touchdowns. Wright also set new school career and single-season records for receiving touchdowns.
Thurness returned in 2021 and became CSC's all-time leader with 192 receptions and tied Wright's record of 26 touchdowns. Together with teammate Chad Mikelson, the pair finished among the top 10 receivers in the conference. Mikelson earned All-RMAC Second Team honors in 2021.
Prior to his most recent promotion, he oversaw tight end Matt Vargas's 2018 All-RMAC season, as well as running back Derek Jackson's 1,000-yard season in 2017. Additionally he served as a special teams assistant and worked extensively with the scout team and practice film coordination. The Merino, Colorado, native was tasked with recruiting eastern Colorado.
Prior to Chadron State, he coached at Lead-Deadwood High School for one season, working with running backs, linebackers, and special teams.
DeSanti was a running back at Black Hills State University from 2010 to 2013, when he ran for more than 1,500 yards and recorded more than 500 receiving yards. He led the Yellow Jackets in rushing yards in both his sophomore and junior seasons.
He also participated on a conference champion 4x200 relay team in 2011, with track and field.
Desanti graduated from Merino High School (Colo.) in 2010 where he earned four varsity letters in both football and track and field. DeSanti helped the Rams to state titles in 2007 and 2009.
As a full time athletics staff member, DeSanti coordinates game operations at CSC's home athletic events for all sports.
He and his wife Leah live in Chadron and have a newborn son, Rocco Charles, who is named after both his grandfathers.
