Fred Pillivant joined the Chadron State football staff in 2026 as an Offensive Assistant, where he works with the Eagles' wide receivers.
Prior to joining Chadron State, Pillivant spent five seasons with the University of Wyoming football program (NCAA Division I). He began as a student video assistant in 2021, filming practices and games, editing film, creating player cut-ups, and assisting with game-day operations.
In 2025, he transitioned into a student offensive assistant role, working directly with the Cowboys' offensive staff and wide receivers. During that season, he contributed to opponent and self-scout film analysis, built weekly scouting reports, managed scout team defensive responsibilities, and assisted with offensive practice planning. During his time with the team, the Cowboys would go to three bowl games in those five years, including wins in the 2021 Famous Idaho Potato Bowl and the 2023 Barstool Arizona Bowl.
Pillivant earned his bachelor’s degree in communications from the University of Wyoming in 2026. A native of Wyoming, he attended Cheyenne Central High School, where he played wide receiver and quarterback.
