2024 – Stephon Parker Jr. joins the CSC Football staff for his second year as a coaching assistant for the defensive line after spending seven previous years as an assistant coach around the country.
In 2022, Parker spent the season as a defensive analyst working with safeties at Valdosta State University. Working under former Colorado Mesa Head Coach Tremaine Jackson, the Blazers went 5-6.
The most notable stop in Parkers coaching career occurred in 2021, when he was a recruiting analyst and wide receivers’ coach for the University of Georgia.
Parker helped analyze opponents’ film, prepared scout plans for practice and performed other duties enroot to the Bulldogs winning the 2021 Division I College Football Playoff National Championship.
Parker coached SEC All-Freshman selection Ladd McConkey and George Pickens, who was a second-round draft pick in the 2021 NFL draft.
From 2017-2020, Parker was a student assistant at Alcorn State except in 2019 when he took a gap year to expand his coaching knowledge.
While at Alcorn, he coached quarterbacks and running backs on the offensive side of the ball for two years, before being a defensive student assistant in 2018 and 2020. In 2018, Alcorn State was the champions of the SWAC.
Prior to Alcorn State, Parker was on staff at Florida A&M University in 2013 and 2014. While with the Rattlers, he helped with recruiting, video editing and any other tasks assigned to him.
Parker graduated from Alcorn State in the spring of 2023 with a bachelor’s of science degree in sports management.
His cousin, Derrick Murphy, currently holds the CSC Men’s Track high jump record at 7-0.
Parker is the son of Dr. Janelle R. Baker and Stephon Parker Sr. and has 7 siblings (Tiffany, Brandy, Tresann, Jazmine, Devin, Toray and Tearra.)
