2013: One of the most seasoned veterans on the team who serves as an excellent backup to quarterback Jonn McLain … He appeared in all 11 games in 2013 and had 33 rushes for 178 yards and two TDs … He also completed 19 of 35 passes for 134 yards and two TDs … For his career, he has appeared in 32 games, completing 36 of 63 passes for 275 yadrs and three touchdowns … He is an effective runner, gaining 213 yards on just 47 carries … In 2014, he will hold the ball for the field goal kicker and serve as the long snapper for the punter … A true team player who also mixes it up on special team kick coverage units … Named to the RMAC All-Academic Honor Roll.
2012: Played in 11 games and saw some time behind center as the backup quarterback … He completed eight of 11 passes for 90 yards and a TD … He also rushed for 20 yards … He had his best game against Western State, completing six of seven for 52 yards and his first career touchdown pass … He was also the primary holder on placekicks … Named to the RMAC All-Academic honor roll.
2011: Played in 10 games as the holder on placekicks and also saw time at quarterback … He saw his most extensive time of the season against New Mexico Highlands when he completed seven of 11 passes for 39 yards … He also rushed for nine yards … For the season, he completed nine of 17 passes for 51 yards … Named RMAC All-Academic Honorable Mention.
2010: Redshirted during his first season at CSC.
High School: Had a banner 2009 season leading Gering High to a 9-2 record and a playoff berth … He was the second-rated passer in Class B, completing 145 of 229 passes (63%) for 1,774 yards and 17 touchdowns … He was named to the Lincoln Journal Star First Team and earned honorable mention from the Omaha World-Herald and Huskerland Prep … He was ranked the No. 2 player in the Nebraska Panhandle by the Scottsbluff Star-Herald and he was also the all-class quarterback … He was named the Star-Herald’s Dynamic Dozen No. 1 male athlete in the summer … Played high school football for his father, Tom … Also played basketball and legion baseball for Gering and ran the hurdles for the track team in the spring .. He placed sixth in the Class B 110 high hurdles at the 2010 state meet … He had a season-best time of 15.1 seconds.
Personal: A physical education and health major with a 3.4 GPA … Son of Tom and Barb … His younger brother, Danny, is a wide receiver for the Eagles … His twin sister, Emily, also attended Chadron State … His other sister’s name is Katie, a freshman on the CSC women’s basketball team … Born Sept. 26.
