2013: Named a preseason All-American by USA College Football.
2012: Flew under the radar at middle linebacker while playing alongside consensus All-American Kevin Lindholm but he managed to have an impressive season himself … He was second on the team with 97 total tackles, including 5.5 for a loss, four sacks and two forced fumbles … His tackle total was the third-highest mark since 1998 when Kevin Homer had 126 … The only person who had more tackles than Koch in that time period was Lindholm … He had five games of at least nine tackles, including a career-high 16 against Adams State … He also led the Eagles with 14 tackles in their playoff game with West Texas A&M … Needless to say, plenty is expected of him in 2013: “He’s one of the leaders of the defense, for sure,” Larson said. “He’s such a solid player. There’s nothing fancy about him and that works perfectly for us. Now is his time to shine.” … He was named to the All-RMAC Second Team and the All-Nebraska D-II First Team following the season … He was also an RMAC All-Academic choice … He also served as the team’s long snapper.
2011: Worked himself into the rotation at linebacker and made a difference … He played in nine games and started four of them … He had at least three tackles in every game he played in, including a season-high eight against UNK … He finished third on the team with 49 total tackles and he added four tackles for loss and two quarterback hurries … Named to the RMAC All-Academic Second Team.
2010: Helped add depth at linebacker while continuing to learn the defensive scheme.
2009: Redshirted during his first season at CSC.
High School: A four-year starter who was first-team Class 11A all-state as a senior after being honorable mention as a junior ... He played middle linebacker and led the Wildcats in tackles as a junior and senior, averaging about 12 per game ... He also rushed for about 350 yards while playing fullback ... Played in the 2009 South Dakota All-Star Game … Also started on the basketball team and was a middle distance runner and triple jumper for the track and field team.
