Biography

2012: Battled a nagging upper body injury but only missed two games … He played in the remaining 10 contests, starting seven of them … He is a fantastic downfield blocker and also a valuable receiver … He finished the season with 17 receptions for 177 yards … Had his best game of the season against West Texas A&M in the playoffs, finishing with four receptions for 74 yards … “Travis is a strong receiver and a ferocious blocker,” Long said. “He plays physical.” … He has started in 29 career games at wide receiver … Combined with Nathan Ross, the two receivers have started 61 times.
2011: He followed up his strong freshman season with an even better sophomore campaign, finishing with 25 receptions for 337 yards and two touchdowns … He had at least one catch in nine games … What sets him apart, though, is his blocking ability … “He is our best blocker on the outside,” offensive coordinator Chris Stein said. “He has the proper attitude for it and having him block for us is a bonus.”
2010: Blossomed during his redshirt year, becoming a valuable member of the team and an excellent downfield blocker … He was one of 11 players who started all 11 games, but he was the only redshirt freshman to do it … Made 17 receptions for 264 yards and added two TDs … His biggest game came against the Eagles’ rival, UNK, when he had five catches for 115 yards and a touchdown.
2009: Redshirted during his first season at CSC.
High School: One of the biggest playmakers for the Chadron Cardinals as a senior ... Ran for 902 yards on 150 carries (6.01 yds/carry) and had 45 receptions for 663 yards and 14 touchdowns ... Scored a total of 29 TDs in 2008 ... Also had four interceptions and was one of the team leaders in tackles ... Was named to the Omaha World-Herald and Lincoln Journal Star Class C-1 First Team defensive teams ... Also was a Star-Herald All-Region First Team selection and a District 10 selection ... Also started on the Cards’ state runner-up basketball team and was involved in track and field.
Personal: A sports management major with a 3.23 GPA ... He’s continued the tradition of other Chadron High graduates who have worn No. 6, including Aaron Bauer, Micah Smith, and CSC offensive coordinator, Chris Stein … Son of Matt and Michelle Reeves … Has a younger brother, Wade … Born Nov. 30.
