2014: Named a team captain.
2013: A leader on the defensive line … He started all 11 games at nose guard and proved he was a formidable man in the middle … He made 42 stops, including three tackles for loss and broke up a pass … He was named to the All-Nebraska Division II team following the season … He’s also an excellent student and was placed on the CoSIDA Capital One Academic All-American team.
2012: He started the first seven games of the season and played in the remaining five as a valuable member of the defensive line … He finished with 22 total tackles … Had two games where he finished with four tackles … He was named to the RMAC All-Academic First Team.
2011: He played in nine of 11 games and he was productive – finishing with 13 total tackles, four tackles for loss and half a sack … One of the smartest players on the team and was placed on the RMAC All-Academic Honor Roll.
2010: Redshirted during his first season at CSC.
High School: A first-team Class C-1 all-stater who was placed on the offensive line by the Lincoln Journal Star and Huskerland Prep and in the defensive line by the Omaha World-Herald … Played tackle on offense and end on defense … He made 35 unassisted and 56 assisted tackles, had 8.5 quarterback sacks and 19.5 tackles for losses as a senior … The Cardinals were 29-3 during his three years as a starter … Also was the school’s heavyweight wrestler and qualified for the state tournament two years, and threw the shot more than 49-10 ½ feet in 2010.
Personal: His brother Mike was an offensive lineman for the Eagles … A math and physical education major with a 3.94 GPA … Son of Rob and JoAnn … His sister’s name is Maddie … Born Nov. 4.
