Biography
2017-18 Outlook: One of the highest profile players the Chadron State men’s basketball program has ever signed after he had a terrific career at Scottsbluff High School. Coach Reed says it’s expected that Kuxhausen will be in the mix for lots of playing time in the backcourt this season and expects him to have a great career. “We’re expecting him to do a lot of the same things he did in high school,” Reed said.
Before Chadron State: Kuxhausen was a four-year starter at Scottsbluff High on teams that were 87-22, reached the Class B portion of the state tournament all four years and were in the championship game the final two years. Particularly late in his career, he played point guard and was the target of special defenses. His scoring averages, by year, were 11.5 points, 14.2, 21.9 and 28.5. For his career, he shot 47 percent from the field, including 43 percent on 3-pointers, 90.4 from the free throw line and scored 2,110 points, the most ever for a male or female player from the Panhandle and 17th all-time among boys in the state. He averaged 19.4 points during his career. He also averaged 7.2 rebounds his final two years. He scored a career-high 52 points against Casper Natrona in December 2015. Kuxhausen was a Class B first-team state selection by all the media as both a junior and a senior and they selected him the Class B captain or outstanding player as well as an all-class all-stater as a senior in 2016-17.
