Biography
2013: Helped the Eagles to one of their best season ever by winning the 400-meter intermediate hurdles in 52.87 seconds and running the opening leg of the RMAC Outdoor Meet’s champion 4x400-meter relay team that set the school record mark of 3:14.45….Had a career-best time of 52.56 in the 400 hurdles at the Colorado Mines Last Chance Meet…That qualified him for the National Outdoor Meet, where his prelims time was 53.54…The 52.56 is just seven one-hundredths of a second behind Lincoln Proud’s school record…Gavan also was eighth in the 400 meters at the RMAC Indoor Meet in 51.08 and was a member of the second place 4x400 relay team (3:22.59).
2012: Had a best of 54.81 seconds in the 400 hurdles and placed fifth in the event at the RMAC Meet in 55:00…Also ran on the 4x400 relay team that was fourth at the conference meet with a then-school record time of 3:16.06…Ran the 400 indoors in 50.70.
2011:Â Had a best of 56.35 seconds in the 400 hurdles and finished seventh at the conference meet in 56:57.
High School: Graduated from Manchester High in 2009…The previous year, he had been a member of the Jamaican 4x800 relay team that won first in the American Championship Games at the Penn Relays…
Personal: Son of Clinton and Michelle Archibald…Born Sept. 5, 1989…A marketing and finance major with a 3.718 grade point average as he nears graduation.
