Biography
2020-21: High-energy big man with a great work ethic from an athletic family.
2019-20: Had a breakout season getting increased playing time throughout the season...key role player...hit 4 of 5 three pointers and had a career high 16 points at home against Black Hills State...averaged 3.4 rpg...started the last 6 games of the year.
2018-19: Played a total of 16 minutes in 7 games on the year...hit a 3 pointer in his hometown against Colorado Mines. Was still on the CSC track & field roster and competed once to throw shot put at the Air Force Twilight Open, finishing 15th with a throw of 26' 11".
2017-18: Redshirt year. Was also a member of the track & field team and qualified for the 2018 RMAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships in the high jump...had a season best mark in that event at 6' 2.25".
Before Chadron State: He averaged 14 points and six rebounds while helping lead Golden High to the semifinals of the Colorado State Tournament last winter. He scored 24 points in one of the tournament games and earned first-team all-league honors twice as well as academic all-state.
Personal: Son of Alex and Kendra Sund. His maternal grandfather is Marv Kay, former football coach and athletic director at Colorado Mines, an inductee into the RMAC Hall of Fame as well as former mayor of Golden. A cousin, Casey Polk, was a stalwart on the Chadron State softball teams a few years ago. Kayden was born Dec. 22, 1998. He’s a health professions major.
