Biography
2018—After making big gains last season, Hanson enters her senior season with the Eagles’ fifth best mark all-time of 59-2 ¾ in the 20-pound weight throw and third best mark of 187-10 in the hammer throw.
2017—Although overshadowed by two-time National Champion and five-time All-American Mel Herl, Hanson had an exceptional season. She had bests of 59-2 ¾ in the weight throw, 144-9 in the discus and 187-10 in the hammer. She was the silver medalist in the weight at the RMAC Indoor Championships, was the runner-up again in the hammer and also placed fifth in the discus at the Outdoor Meet.
2016—She had bests of 52-4 ¾ in the weight throw, 170- ½ in the hammer throw and 120-7 in the discus. Placed fourth in the weight at the RMAC Indoor Meet and was fifth in the hammer at the Outdoor Meet.
2015—Was a member of the CSC volleyball team in the fall of 2014, then threw for the track team. Had bests of 34-7 ¾ in the shot, 51-8 ½ in the weight indoors and hit 136-8 in the discus and 157-5 in the hammer outdoors. Placed seventh in the discus at the RMAC Meet.
Before Chadron State: Placed fourth in Class B in the discus at the state meet at 129-9 after winning the district meet with a fling of 132-3.
Personal: A straight A student who made the CSC President’s List again last fall. Daughter of Tom and Janni Hanson.
