Biography
2017— Another member of the Eagles’ corps of capable throwers. Had career-best shot put throws of 53-8 ½ at the Black Hills Holiday Classic and 53-7 at the Colorado Mines Alumni Meet in December 2016. Both marks are provisional qualifiers for the national meet. He also had career-best marks of 54-8 ½ and 55-3 ½ in the weight at those meets.
2016— Had bests of 51-5 ½ in the shot put and 56-3 ¾ in the weight throw indoors and 52-4 ½ in the shot, 175-8 in the discus and 142-10 in the hammer throw outdoors. He was eighth in the shot and third in the weight throw at the RMAC Indoor Meet and fifth in the shot and third in the hammer at the Outdoor Meet. Blake also received first-team RMAC academic honors both indoors and outdoors. He’s a math major.
2015—Redshirted.
Before Chadron State: Threw the shot 54 feet in high school.
