2022: Virgl begins her second year coaching with the Chadron State track and field program in 2022-23.
In 2021-22, she helped a pair of sophomores achieve Second Team All-America status when Daniel Reynolds finished 12th in the men's weight throw, at the NCAA indoor championships, and Shane Collins was 11th in the men's hammer throw outdoors. Both men were also Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference champions in the same seasons. Reynolds set new school records in both events.
Prior to CSC, she served as the throwing coach at Southwest Minnesota State University from 2019-21 where her athletes broke 12 school records, had three First Team All-Americans and one Second Team All-American.
Before SMSU she was the student assistant coach for Southern Illinois University Edwardsville where she helped coach the throwers and cross country runners, including the 2019 Ohio Valley Conference Men’s Weight Throwing Champion.Â
Collegiately, Virgl competed in all throwing events at SIUE from 2014-2018, breaking the school weight throw record in 2018. Additionally, she won the Ohio Valley Conference Championship event in the hammer throw in 2018 and received All-Conference honors in 2016 and 2018.Â
She received her Masters of Science in Physical Education: Coaching & Sports from Southwest Minnesota State University in May 2021 and a Bachelors of Science in Art Education: K-12 for Southern Illinois University Edwardsville in May 2019.
Virgl still competes competitively in the weight throw and hammer and has competed at the USATF Indoor National Championship in 2020, placing 10th in the weight throw.
