2023: Sterkel joins the women's basketball staff as a coaching assistant after spending the 2022-2023 season with Briar Cliff University (NAIA) in Sioux City, Iowa as a Graduate Assistant.Â
While at Briar Cliff, Sterkel was in charge of the JV Basketball team and an assistant for the Varsity team. She also assisted with recruiting and social media pages for the team. During her time at BCU, the team went on to win its first-ever conference championship and advanced to the round of 16 at the NAIA national tournament.Â
Sterkel graduated from NCAA D2 Regis University in 2021, earning a Bachelor of Science in Psychology. While at Regis University, Sterkel was a two-time team captain and ranked 15th all-time for 3-point field goals made (121).Â
While at BCU, Sterkel completed two graduate programs, one in Management Leadership and one in Sports Management.Â
Sterkel grew up in Gering, Nebraska and lives with her Fiancee, MacKenzie, and their two dogs, Drako and Zeus.
