Ashland Baca joined the Chadron State coaching staff as a graduate assistant ahead of the 2025 season.
A native of Pueblo West, Colorado, Baca had a five-year college softball playing career, spending her first two seasons at McCook Community College and three seasons with Chadron State. A slugging first baseman/designated player, Baca ranked top-10 in the nation at the junior college level with 23 home runs during the 2022 season at McCook.
Over the course of three seasons with the Eagles, Baca hit a cumulative .343 with a .417 on-base percentage while racking up 20 home runs, 21 doubles and 90 RBI. In her final season in 2025, Baca ranked ninth in the RMAC with a .466 on-base percentage and had twice as many walks (22) as strikeouts (11).
Academically, Baca graduated from Chadron State with a perfect 4.0 GPA as a business administation major, winning First Team Academic All-RMAC honors in 2025. She is currently pursuing her MBA from CSC.
