Harley Rhoades has served as the Chadron State volleyball assistant coach since 2022 after previously serving as a student assistant during his time as an undergraduate student at CSC.

Rhoades was a decathlete for the Eagle track & field team and was a three-time Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference all-conference honoree and was named All-Region for the 2020 indoor season. Rhoades earned numerous RMAC academic honor roll awards and was named the RMAC Summit Award winner for having the highest GPA at the track in field championships for the 2023 outdoor season. He was named the athletic department's Clyde Bond Memorial Award recipient for leadership skills, character, and athletic abilities, in 2023.

On the court, Rhoades has assisted head coach Jen Stadler in every season she has led the program. During that time, the Eagles have landed 12 athletes on the RMAC All-Conference teams. Eagle volleyball has had some of its most successful seasons in program history with Rhoades on staff, including an RMAC tournament appearance in 2023, the program's first since 2003.

In addition to his coaching duties at CSC, Rhoades has also helped facilitate camps both on campus and at high schools and club programs in the surrounding region. He has also been a camp instructor at the University of Nebraska in Lincoln and coaches for the Chadron Elite Volleyball club.

Rhoades's parents, Jay and Angela, are both in the Chadron State Athletics Hall of Fame. Jay played wide receiver for the Eagle football team, while Angela was a CSC volleyball athlete, competing as the setter for some of CSC's most successful volleyball teams. Rhoades's sister, Haedyn, played volleyball for conference rival Black Hills State, is the program's all-time leader in digs and is now an assistant coach on the Yellow Jackets' staff.

Rhoades received a bachelor's degree in education from Chadron State in 2023 and a Master of Organizational Management - Sports Leadership in 2024.
