Five Chadron State wrestlers placed among the top four in their weight classes Saturday at the Great Plains Open Tournament in Lincoln. Freshman Skylair Lappe of Douglas High near Rapid City at 133 pounds and junior Jared Webster of Custer, at 157 pounds, finished third. Senior Jake Schluckebier of Milford at 174, Brett Hunter pf Rushville at 165 and Jason Abell of Jacksonville, Fla., at 197 all placed fourth. At 4-1, Webster led the Eagles in victories. He is redshirting this season, and recently had arthroscopic knee surgery. The competition was stiff at the Great Plains Tourney. CSC Coach Scott Ritzen noted that while UNL, Air Force Academy, Northern Iowa and Boise State didn't have their varsities entered, those teams' alternates are still outstanding in many instances.
