Box Score DURANGO, Colo. – Ashley Kuchar sank a layup with one second to play to give the Fort Lewis women's basketball team a gritty 85-83 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference victory over Chadron State Friday at Whalen Gymnasium.

The Eagles (1-10, 1-6 RMAC) had a chance for a desperation shot following Kuchar's bucket but time expired.

Kuchar's game-winner was the 20th time the lead changed in the game. Prior to Kuchar's heroics, Chadron State's
Dallas Shaw, who connected on five treys and finished with 19 points, swished a long 3-pointer to tie the game for the 12th time at 83-83 with 23 seconds remaining.

Neither team led by more than seven points and both squads nearly shot 50 percent from the field. Chadron State finished 27 of 56 (48.2 percent) from the floor, while Fort Lewis (7-3, 4-2 RMAC) connected on 30 of 63 (47.6 percent).

The Eagles dominated from long range, sinking 10 of 16 attempts. Shaw had five treys and
Kayli Rageth, who led Chadron State with a career-high 27 points, added four.

Fort Lewis only hit three 3-pointers but the Skyhawks managed to make 22 of 29 foul shots.

In addition to Shaw and Rageth's strong games, Chadron State's
Kattie Ranta scored 19 points. Shaw and Simonton both had four assists, Rageth had a team-high seven rebounds and
Leana Tajkov added two blocks.

Three Fort Lewis players finished in double figures. Mary Brinton scored 27 points and grabbed 13 boards coming off the bench, Kuchar had 23 points and nine assists and Erika Richards scored 19 points and made all nine of her foul shots.
