Adams State downs Eagles 86-74

Box Score ALAMOSA, Colo.—Adams State made all 12 of its free throws in the final two minutes to nail down an 86-74 victory over Chadron State in a Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference men's basketball game here Saturday night.
 
The Grizzlies (6-4 and 3-4 in the RMAC) were 36 of 50 from the line while Chadron State was 19 of 31. Both teams made 23 field goals, but the Eagles had nine 3-pointers, five more than Adams State.
 
Chadron State coach Brent Bargen said a big factor in the outcome occurred in the first half. The Eagles trailed 38-33 at halftime after going just seven of 17 from the line.
 
The Eagles cut the difference to three points early in the second half, but Adams State was ahead from seven to 13 points the final 18 minutes.
 
Both teams put four players in double figures. The Grizzlies' Juwann Buchanan led all scorers with 21 points. Justin Kaumann added 17, Kenny Morgan 15 and Lark Lee 10. They combined to make 23 of 25 free throws. Jaree Crawford contributed eight points and a game-high 10 rebounds.
 
Chadron State was led by Zac Bargen with 16 points, followed by David Downey with 13, Evan Brooks 11 and Chris Smith 10.
 
The Eagles (5-7 and 2-6) will visit Black Hills State on Thursday night.
