Both Chadron State College basketball teams will have their final tune-up for Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference action Friday when they play a doubleheader against South Dakota School of Mines in Rapid City, South Dakota. The women's game will start at 5 p.m. with the men's game to follow.

The Mines women are 1-4, while the men dropped their first five games before they were to host Southeastern Oklahoma on Wednesday night.

The Lady Hardrockers' were delighted to get their win because it came over archrival Black Hills State 57-52.

Earlier, they fell to St. Cloud State of Minnesota by almost identical scores—62-53 and 63-52—at home. After toppling Black Hills, the Mines women went on the road and lost to Sioux Falls 69-55 and to Northern State of Aberdeen, S.D., 68-39.

The Mines men lost at home to two North Dakota schools, Minot State 82-76 and Mary 61-49, then were edged by Black Hills State in Spearfish 72-67. They also were defeated by RMAC powers Metro State 79-52 and Colorado Mines 90-66 during a trip to the Denver area last weekend.

The youthful CSC women's team is 0-3 after playing three strong opponents—Augustana, Montana State-Billings and Wayne State. Coach
Tim Connealy said he's trying to set the Eagles chemistry and build the players' confidence.

The CSC men are 1-2 after defeating Presentation College in the season-opener, but losing to Nebraska-Kearney and South Dakota State. Â

The RMAC schedule will kick off Friday and Saturday, Dec. 5 and 6 when CSC hosts Colorado Mesa and Western State will visit the Chicoine Events Center. Both doubleheaders begin at 5:30 p.m.
