LAKEWOOD, Colo. – The Chadron State College's women basketball team fell to Colorado Christian University 56-62 in overtime during their Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference game Saturday evening.

The Eagles (1-7, 1-3 RMAC) scored 30 points in the second half to send the game into overtime after trailing 27-23 at half. CCU's Taylor Torres hit two free throws to take the lead with seven seconds left in the second half, but the Eagles worked the ball down the court, and with one second left junior
Emma Block made a layup to send the game into overtime. Overtime went scoreless for almost two minutes, but the Cougars hit five free throws down the stretch to seal the victory against the Eagles.

Block led all scorers with 23 points. The junior sank 12 field goals, including four from beyond the arc. Center
Maddie Metzger chipped in 10 points and pulled down a team-high seven rebounds.

Colorado Christian (2-8, 2-2 RMAC) had three scorers with double digit points, led by Kate Louthan's 20. Louthan hit half her shots from the field and six assists before fouling out of the game. Torres added 11 points and five assists, while Ali Meyer chipped in 10 points.

Defense was the key to victory, as the Cougars ended the night with 10 blocks and 13 steals. Meyer had a game-high seven steals, while Torres ended with three. Claire Paxton, who had eight points, was a force in the middle with 13 rebounds and seven blocks.

Chadron State plays at Regis University and Metro State University Dec. 19 and 20.
