KEARNEY, Neb.—The Chadron State College wrestling team split its four matches Saturday during the Midwest Duals hosted by the University of Nebraska-Kearney.
 
The Eagles defeated the University of Mary 33-9 and Kansas Newman 34-9, but fell to San Francisco State 26-7 and Fort Hays State 26-18.   The match with the San Francisco Gators counts in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference standings.
 
Chadron State is now 6-6 for the season in duals.
 
Two Eagles, sophomore Jacob Anderson of Central City at 149 pounds and freshman Chance Helmick of Beatrice at 165,  won all four of their matches Saturday, most of them by wide margins.
 
Anderson notched 13-7 and 4-0 decisions, a major decision and a technical fall.  Helmick began his day with a technical fall and then won by scores of 12-5, 6-1 and 13-4.
 
Two more Eagles, Taylor Summers at 133 pounds and Devan Fors at 197, went 3-1 during the day, but both were awarded a pair of forfeits.
 
The Eagles will be host Colorado State-Pueblo at 7 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 13.
