The Chadron State College basketball teams will wrap up the first half of their round-robin schedule through the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference this weekend by hosting Colorado State-Pueblo on Friday night and Colorado-Colorado Springs on Saturday night.

Both double-headers will start at 5:30 in the Chicoine Center.

At Friday's game, the Chadron State College Public Relations Club is hosting The Girl Scouts of Chadron in the Chicoine Center for the women's game. Following the game, the Scouts will meet the Eagles. There will be an autograph and photo booth, as well.

The CSC women got a lift last weekend when they defeated New Mexico Highlands 85-80 in overtime behind
Allegria Chisom's career-high 25 points. She scored 12 points in the last 4:46 to help the Eagles tie the score at 72-72 at the end of regulation. She then scored CSC's first six points in overtime and teammates
Kayla Mathews and
Emma Block each scored three points in the final 44 seconds to notch the victory.

The CSC men lost a pair of heart-breakers last weekend in New Mexico, falling 98-95 on a last-second 3-pointer at New Mexico Highlands and 78-76 at Western New Mexico in a game that had eight lead changes and 11 ties. CSC coach
Brent Bargen said his team probably played its best basketball of the season during the trip. The Eagles got a boost when two alternates,
Roderick Butler and
Sharif Black, scored in double figures in both contests.

The Pueblo teams are in the middle of the RMAC standings. Both Colorado Springs quintets are 15-2 for the season and at or near the top of the conference.

The Pueblo women are 8-7 overall and 6-5 in the league. They reeled off five straight wins in December before losing the final game that month and are 1-5 so far in 2015.

Junior forward Ashley Piper leads the team in scoring at 13.3 points a game and is averaging 7.5 rebounds. Katie Nehf, a 6-2 senior, is averaging 11.3 points and 8.3 rebounds.

The ThunderWolves' men are 11-6 overall and sixth in the RMAC at 7-4. Tyrone Marshall, a 6-8 center, leads the scoring at 13.6 points a game. Bronson Moton, a 6-5 junior, is averaging 12.7 points and is the team's busiest rebounder at 7.3 a game.

The Lady Mountain Lions have lost only to Regis (92-89) in conference play, although they needed to go into overtime to beat Pueblo 69-66 at home on Jan. 3.

Colorado Springs features the RMAC's two leading scorers in 5-11 senior Abby Kirchoff at 21.2 points a game and 6-1 sophomore Brittany Hernandez at 19.2. Hernandez also is the conference's top rebounder at 10 per game and Kirchoff is among the nation's top free throw shooters after making 89 of 100 shots from the line.

Kirchoff has been the RMAC Women's Offensive Player of the Week three times while Hernandez has received the offensive honor twice and the defensive honor four times.

The UCCS men's team is led by Derrick White, a 6-5 junior from Parker, Colo. He is averaging 25.6 points after ringing up 44 Saturday night during an 80-64 win over Colorado Christian. The Lions won their first 14 games this season before losing to Colorado Mesa 100-92 and Colorado Mines 82-73 prior to beating the Christian Cougars.

White, who leads the RMAC in steals, is also averaging 7.6 rebounds a game. He's shooting 57 percent from the field and 83 percent from the line, where he's 132 of 159. No one else on the team has shot more than 67 free throws. He's received both the RMAC Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week nods three times this season.Â

Another high scorer for the Lions is Alex Welsh, who is averaging 15.7 points. Tom Billingsley, who is averaging 10.6 points, is 43 of 101 on 3-pointers to rank among the RMAC leaders from behind the arc.

Both CSC teams are 3-12 for the season. The women are 3-8 in the RMAC and the men are 2-9.
