The Chadron State College wrestlers will wrap up their home schedule for the season by hosting Western State at 1 p.m. Saturday in the Chicoine Center. It will be the first wrestling competition in the new facility.

A high school indoor track meet with several hundred entries will be taking place Saturday in the Nelson Physical Activity Center, where the Eagles normally wrestle.

Western State is considered the top team in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference this winter. The Mountaineers are the defending Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference dual champions as well as the defending West Regional champs. They have a 7-1 dual record this season. Their only loss was to the Air Force Academy.

Western will have an RMAC dual at Colorado State-Pueblo on Thursday night before coming on toe Chadron.

The Mountaineers, who are 11
th in the latest NCAA Division II Coaches' Association poll, are particularly strong in the upper weights, where three seniors are nationally ranked.

Elliot Copeland is second at 174 pounds, Kyle Piatt is fifth at 184 and Sam Mangum is sixth at 197. All three won regional titles and Copeland placed fourth and Piatt fifth at the National Tournament last year.

Copeland also was third at Nationals as a freshman and fourth as a sophomore at nationals. His projected opponent Saturday will be his younger brother, Caleb, a Chadron State sophomore. Caleb is 16-9 this season.

The Eagles' three seniors—
Tyler Smart and twins Dylan and
Devan Fors—will be recognized prior to the start of Saturday's match.
