DENVER - October 13, 2015 - Regis University used a combination of efficient hitting and ferocious defense to down the Chadron State Eagles in four sets in Denver tonight. The Eagles fall to 4-13 (3-6 RMAC) while the Rangers improve to 11-7 (8-1 RMAC) with the win.
Regis's Maggie Steward finished with 19 kills on .395 hitting for an impressive night offensively. The Rangers as a team hit at a clip of .308, which was the highest allowed by the Eagles in conference play so far.
On the defensive end, the Rangers collected digs on 71 of CSC's 145 total attacks, holding the Eagles to 10 kills per set, their lowest average in RMAC contests on the season.
For the second straight match, senior Lelaleilei Nomura led the Eagles in kills, notching 16 tonight and adding 11 digs. Freshman
Madison Webb guided the Chadron State attack with 30 of 32 assists.
The Eagles, familiar with service woes in the past, found themselves on the advantage in service errors, with only four compared to Regis's season-high 15.
Chadron State returns to action Friday night, hosting AVCA No. 21 Colorado School of Mines at 7 p.m. Colorado Christian University takes their turn on the floor of Chicoine Center on Saturday at 7 p.m.
