GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. — The Chadron State College women's basketball team had its four-game winning streak snapped Saturday night, when Erin Reichle poured in 34 points while leading Colorado Mesa to a 78-60 triumph in a Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference contest.
Reichle, a 5-foot-7 sophomore from Utah, scored 31 points against the Eagles on Dec. 5 when the teams played in Chadron. That was her previous season-high.
She definitely put up the shots Saturday night. She was 14 of 32 from the field, including six of 14 from 3-point range. She never went to the free throw line.
The Eagles got off to a blistering start, building a pair of 15-point leads in the opening half. But Chadron State failed to score in the final four and one-half minutes of the half and led by only 34-31 at intermission.
The score was knotted at 47-47 with 13:08 to play, but the Mavericks, now 17-4 overall and 14-3 in the RMAC, outscored the Eagles 31-13 the rest of the way. Reichle tallied 24 of her points in the second half.
For the game, the Eagles shot 45.5 percent from the field, and Mesa shot just 40 percent, but the Mavericks got off 75 field goal tries and CSC only 55. The Eagles hurt themselves by making just five of 14 free throws.
Three more Mesa players scored in double figures, led by Shanna Halililo with 12. Another was Leanndra Gilbert, who scored 10 points and grabbed 12 rebounds.

Stephanie Knowles led CSC with 16 points on seven of nine shooting from the field. Freshman center
Maka Daysh added 14 points.
The Eagles, now 7-14 and 7-10, will host Colorado Christian and Colorado Mines this weekend.
