The Chadron State College Athletes of the Week are
Damarcus Simpson and
Angelique Urenda.

Simpson, a freshman from Lafayette, Georgia, rewrote three school records in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Championships. Simpson highlighted the meet with a RMAC meet record of 25-feet, 4 ½-inches to win the long jump. He also placed second in the 60 meter dash with a time of 6.72, beating out
Alex Graham's previous record of 6.74. Simpson placed second in the men's triple jump, his first time in the event in his college career, with a school record jump of 48-9 ½. Simpson also competed in the high jump for the first time, jumping 6-3 ½ to place sixth. He was named the RMAC Male Athlete of the Meet as well as RMAC Freshman of the Meet.

Urenda, a sophomore from Pueblo, Colorado, had personal high marks in the women's pole vault and high jump.  She placed second in the pole vault, jumping 11-1 ¾, while placing fourth in the high jump with a mark of 5-3 ¾. Â
