CANYON, Texas -- February 12, 2016 -- Chadron State College added a couple of statement wins to its resume in non-conference action today, as the Eagles defeated Angelo State 4-2, followed by a 6-4 win over No. 10 Tarleton State.
The win over Angelo State gave the Rambelles their first loss of the season. ASU's All-Region pitcher Kenedy Urbany received her first loss individually, giving up four earned runs on eight hits, in six innings on the mound. The Angelo State women received an NCAA tournament bid in 2015. For the Eagles,

Zoe Humphries were each 2-for-3.
Kendyl Moody scored the winning run in the bottom of the sixth, batted in by
Taylor Bauer.
In the afternoon game,
Tayler Hall pitched two and two-thirds innings of shutout ball, striking out four, as CSC got its first win over a ranked opponent since April 26, 2009, when the team won 4-2 over No. 11 MSU Denver on the final day of regular season play. Hall recorded the win in her debut for the Eagles while rehabbing from injury.
Courtney Lecher was an incredible 4-for-5 at the plate with two runs scored, including the tying run.
Katelyn Kruger and
Lindsey Karlin each went 2-for-3 with two RBI.
Kendyl Moody represented the winning run in the sixth inning, when
Morgan Wilhelm reached base on balls, with runners on all four bags.
Chadron State will face Midwestern State tomorrow, with a live stats link available at ChadronEagles.com. Following that game, the Eagles will attempt to upset No. 22 West Texas A&M. The Buffs stand at 6-0 after defeating two ranked opponents in Dixie State and Humboldt State, and winning four other run-shortened games.
