Roadrunners cruise past Eagles, 75-53

CHADRON, Neb. -- February 13, 2016 -- Metropolitan State University of Denver shot 51 percent from the field and never trailed Saturday night while rolling past Chadron State College 75-53 in a men's Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference basketball game which marks the end of the Eagles' home slate.

The Roadrunners, now 16-9 for the season and 14-5 in the conference, closed out the first half with a 9-2 run that gave them a 36-22 intermission margin.  They also scored seven of the first nine points in the second half and led by at least 16 points the rest of the way.

MSU Denver guard Tony Dobbinson led all scorers with 18 points. Another big contributor was 6-foot-10 sophomore Bounama Keita, who scored 13 points, grabbed 14 rebounds and blocked six shots.

Both Enrique Cortes Zotes and Andre Harris added 10 points for the Roadrunners.

Ten players scored for the Eagles, now 6-17 and 4-15, but no one reached double figures.  Warren Gordon led with eight points while both Jordan Green and Jordan Perry added seven points.  Perry also paced the CSC rebounders with seven.

The Eagles will wrap up the season with three road games, beginning this coming weekend when they visit Colorado Mesa in Grand Junction, Colorado, and Westminster in Salt Lake City.
