DENVER -- February 26, 2016 -- The Chadron State College men's basketball team (7-19, 5-17 RMAC) put a punctuation mark on the 2015-16 season, winning 77-70 tonight in Denver over Regis University (9-19, 7-15 RMAC).
Sharif Black and
Warren Gordon each had 16 points and
Billy Johnson added 10 as all three players hit one-third of their attempts from long range.
Leigh Saffin converted two of four treys to finish with eight, his most since unleashing 4-of-8 from the three against Regis on December 5, earlier this season.
The win was the first for the Eagles since a January 22 when they beat Adams State.
CSC ran out to a first-quarter lead and never relinquished it. THe Rangers hit six of their final eight field goals down the stretch, cutting the Eagles' lead to a more respectable seven points after being down by as many as 16 late in the game.
With no more games in front of them, the Eagles conclude their 2015-16 campaign.
