2016 RMAC Tournament Bracket

CHADRON, Neb. -- April 24, 2016 --
The Chadron State College softball team honored its eight seniors on Sunday, between games of a doubleheader in Chadron. The Eagles (27-17-1, 21-11 RMAC) won the morning game 5-4, while the University of Colorado Colorado Springs (21-21, 18-19 RMAC) earned an 8-5 win in eight innings in the midday contest.

The Eagles conclude the best regular season in program history with a winning percentage of .611, after winning at a .563 clip in 2014, when CSC made its last appearance in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Tournament.

Chadron State will make its third-ever appearance in the conference championship event on Thursday, getting the third seed in the eight-team, double-elimination event. The team will again face sixth-seeded UCCS in the first round. The Mountain Lions' pitching staff was one of the most effective against the Eagles all season, holding them to 18 runs in the four-game series. No other team has allowed CSC fewer runs over a pair of weekend doubleheaders.

The tournament begins with the three-six matchup on Thursday morning at 8:30 a.m. If the Eagles win, they would get to rest until the following day when they would face the winner of MSU Denver and CSU-Pueblo, whose matchup will commence following the Eagles' opening game.

In the event of a CSC loss, the team would attempt to play back through a consolation bracket, with their ensuing game scheduled for 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.

The championship game is scheduled for 1:15 p.m. on Saturday, April 30. In the event no team has lost two games after the championship final, an "if-necessary" game will be held at approximately 3:30 p.m.

All RMAC Tournament games are to be held at the host Colorado Mesa Mavericks' on-campus softball field. The games will be broadcast online at RMACSports.TV and on radio locally on Double Q Country KQSK-97.5. Find the links to listen or watch online via the softball schedule page at ChadronEagles.com.
