Cierra Cosslett tosses complete-game shutout versus Regis

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. -- April 29, 2016 -- Cierra Cosslett pitched a three-hit, complete game shutout in Chadron State College's first consolation bracket game at the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Tournament on Friday evening. The Eagles won 2-0 and will advance to the third round of consolations tomorrow, playing at 11 a.m. against five-seed Colorado State University-Pueblo, who won a 4-3 game late on Friday..

Senior Rebekah Anthony went 2-for-3 and was the conduit for the Eagles' offense in the game. She provided the base hit which led off the sixth inning for Chadron State. Amanda Einspahr, pinch-running for Anthony, scored the go-ahead and winning run in the sixth.

Anthony's second hit went for extra bases, as she doubled in the seventh to bring in Shea Graham. That concluded the scoring for the game.

Kayla Michel and Lindsey Karlin also hit their third and seventh doubles of the season, respectively, in the game.

Tomorrow's 11 a.m. game against the ThunderWolves will be the consolation semifinals, as the winner will face the loser of top seed Colorado Mesa and two-seed MSU Denver. Should they win, the Eagles would play again at approximately 3:30 p.m. on Saturday.
