ST. GEORGE, Utah -- London Pavlica scored a game high 20 points and the Dixie State Trailblazers defeated Chadron State's Women's basketball team 87-52 Saturday evening.

"We couldn't shut them down in transition tonight," Head Coach
Janet Raymer said. "That was a huge factor for us and contributed to them scoring 87 points."

The Trailblazers held the lead the entire contest and shot 46 percent from the field and 40 percent from three, making 12 of their 30 attempts.

CSC finished 21 of 60 for 35 percent from the field and only made 3 of their 16 three point attempts. The Eagles were seven of 11 from the charity stripe, while Dixie State was 11 of 16.

Dixie committed a total of nine turnovers, which resulted in eight points for the Eagles. CSC had 19 turnovers that accounted for 23 of the Trailblazers points.

Sophomore
Taryn Foxen led the Eagles with 18 points on eight of 13 shooting.
Jessica Harvey finished with 11 points and had a team high six rebounds, along with
Mickenzie Brennan.

Pavlica finished eight of 11 from the field while coming off the bench. She also recorded six rebounds and five assists.

Three other Trailblazers scored in double-digits. Madi Loftus had 15 points and Ali Franks and Lisa VanCampen each had 12. Franks had a game high 14 rebounds to help her finish with a double-double and had four steals.

The victory improves Dixie State to 8-5 overall and 4-5 in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference. The Eagles fall to 3-12 overall and 2-7 in the conference.

"We're going to challenge ourselves to take more pride in our defense next weekend," Raymer said. "Offensively we need more execution."

CSC returns to action against New Mexico Highlands, Friday, January 18 in the Chicoine Center. Tip-off is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
