FAIRBANKS, ALASKA -- November 29, 2019 -- A
Melisa Kadic layup with 4:21 left in the fourth quarter lowered CSC's deficit to three, but Lake Erie College ended the game on a 15-6 scoring run to win 71-59 against the Eagles, Friday afternoon.
The loss drops Chadron State to 1-7 overall, while the Storm improve to 2-7.
CSC last led in the game 40-39 with 2:51 in the third quarter and were tied with 1:18 remaining, but the Storm finished the third on a 6-0 scoring run.
The Eagles shot 32.8 percent (22-67) from the field while Lake Erie hit 41.7 percent (25-60). Chadron State outrebounded their opponent 42-30.
CSC finished 15 percent (3-20) from beyond the arc and were 12-21 from the free-throw line, while the Storm made 15-21 free throw attempts and 6-17 attempts from three.
Kadic led the Eagles with 16 points. Nine other players scored for CSC.
Taryn Foxen had a game and career high 11 rebounds.
Josie Chaddock played all 40 minutes for Lake Erie and scored a game high 25 points, along with seven rebounds and six assists. She converted 11 of her 14 free throws.
Chadron State plays their final game in Alaska, tomorrow at 3 p.m., against Converse College.
