FAIRBANKS, ALASKA -- November 30, 2019 -- Chadron State outscored Converse College 45-26 in the first half and
Taryn Foxen scored 26 points as the Eagles defeated the Valkyries 81-63, Saturday afternoon in Alaska.

CSC finishes the road trip 1-2 and is now 2-7 on the season. Converse falls to 1-8.

The Eagles finished the first quarter on a 5-0 scoring run and started the second on a 10-2 scoring run. CSC's lead never got below nine in the third quarter and they led by as much as 24 points.

The Eagle offense scored a season high 81 points in the win.Â

The Eagles shot 38.9 percent (28-72) from the field while the Valkyries hit 33.3 percent (21-63). Chadron State outrebounded their opponent 43-38.

In the victory, Chadron State made a season high 10 three-pointers, with 25 attempts.

CSC made 15-20 free-throw attempts, while Converse made 13-23.

Converse College committed 9 turnovers in the game, compared to CSC's 7. Chadron State scored 13 points off turnovers and the Nanooks scored 11. Seven turnovers is a season low for the Eagles, who average 16.9 a game.

Other than Foxen, three other Eagles had double-digit points.
Melisa Kadic scored 16 points, while
Jori Peters and
Jessica Lovitt each had 14 and 11, respectively.

Kadic finished with a double-double with a game high 14 rebounds. Peters was one assist shy of a double-double, with nine assists.

Ashley Sides had a team high 13 points for Converse, followed by Lindsey Hardin with 10.

CSC returns home to start conference play next weekend, as they host Colorado Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
