CLEVELAND -- For the 12th consecutive year, the Division II Athletic Directors Association named its Academic Achievement Award recipients, recognizing accomplishments of student-athletes, in a release last week.

Fifty Chadron State College student athletes were among the record 11,660 total student-athletes from 185 institutions honored for the 2018-19 academic year. Among them were 18 football players; eight on the women's basketball team; seven volleyball players; five each from the track and field and cross country programs; two apiece from men's basketball, softball, and wrestling; and one golfer.

In order to receive the award, a student-athlete must carry a minimum cumulative 3.5 grade point average, must have attended at least two years of college, and must also have participated as an active member of their intercollegiate team in the last year.
