LAKEWOOD, Colo. -- September 27, 2019 -- After winning six of its first eight matches to start 2018-19, the Chadron State College volleyball team dropped a 3-0 match at Colorado Christian University in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference play on Friday. The Eagles fell to 8-3 on the season (2-1 RMAC) while CCU improved to 5-7 overall, and 1-3 in conference play.
"Colorado Christian is a good team," said Head Volleyball Coach
Jennifer Stadler, "and we didn't play our most efficient match. We have to play clean and aggressive volleyball, and tonight we struggled to do the little things well."
CSC jumped out to early leads in all three sets, getting out in front 5-1, 4-2, and 4-2, respectively. A few errors, mostly on serve-receive and in the setting phase, ultimately decided the match.Â
The sets were tied at 16 points in the first set, 19 in the second, and 23 in the third and deciding set.
Rylee Greiman had 11 kills to lead the Eagles for the night. She added 10 digs for a double-double.
Shelby Schouten,
Chandler Hageman, and
Timmi Keisel each had a game-high three total blocks.
Chadron State goes across town to face No. 12 Regis University on Saturday. The Rangers started the season 6-0 with two wins over teams ranked in the AVCA coaches association top 20. Since then they have gone 3-3 with a 3-1 loss on Friday at home against MSU Denver.
