HAYS, Kan. – Dec. 11m 2022 – Ten Chadron State College men's wrestlers participated in the Fort Hays State Bob Smith Open tournament in Kansas on Sunday, with four taking a top six placing.
 
Freshman Logan Berger went the furthest in his 165-pound bracket, taking third place and winning three of four matches. His only loss was a one-point decision to the tourney runner-up. Otherwise he had a pin, a tech fall, and a standard decision.
 
Junior Yusef Nelson took fifth place at 125 pounds, going 2-2, while senior Javen Palmer and sophomore Darwin Hull both placed sixth at 165 and 174, respectively.
 
Palmer had the best record of the Eagles who entered the competition, at 4-1, however he withdrew early from the event.
 
CSC competes next weekend at the prestigious Midwest Classic tournament in Indianapolis, before taking a holiday break from competition until January.
