CHADRON, Neb. -- Both Chadron State College basketball teams are on the road again this weekend, playing Friday night at Colorado-Colorado Springs and Saturday night at Regis in Denver.

The Eagles hosted those teams this season in the final games before Christmas, The Chadron State men won both games—77-73 over Regis and 91-84 over Colorado Springs. However, both Colorado quintets downed the CSC women. Regis won 83-48 and Colorado Springs prevailed 70-54.

The Colorado Springs men are 9-9 overall and 5-7 in the RMAC. They had won their last four games, including a big upset of Fort Lewis 79-70 and a 72-68 decision of the potent Metro State Roadrunners, before being stopped by Colorado Mines 71-59 last Saturday night.

The Regis men are 8-9 for the season and 5-6 in the conference. They have lost four of their last five, one of them a narrow 81-80 verdict to Fort Lewis.

The Colorado Springs women are 11-7 and 8-4. They had won five consecutive contests until Colorado Mines stopped the Mountain Lions 77-68 last Saturday night.Â

The Regis women's team is a powerhouse. It is 14-3 overall and 9-2 in the RMAC. The Lady Rangers have won seven straight conference games, including a 93-74 threshing of Colorado Mines in Golden last Friday night. That was the Lady Orediggers' first RMAC setback.

Both Chadron State teams are 1-6 in games played in foreign gyms this season. The CSC men are 9-8 overall and 6-5—still in fourth place--in the RMAC. The women are 5-10 and 3-8. Â

Porter Anderson, who has not played in any of the five games in 2024 because of a hip injury, said he practiced this week and expects to be available. Â
