CHADRON, Neb. -- The Chadron State College men's wrestling team has a chance to clinch its first Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference championship since 1995 with a win against CSU-Pueblo on Saturday at 6 p.m.
A title by the men's wrestling team would be Chadron State athletics first RMAC title since women's track & field was team champions during the 2016 outdoor season.
Adams State defeated Western Colorado yesterday, making the title solely Chadron State's with a victory instead of a shared title.
The Eagles are currently 8-1 overall and 6-0 in conference duals.
Saturday's opponent, the CSU-Pueblo Thunderwolves, are 5-7 overall and 1-3 in RMAC action. Their conference victory was a 31-11 win against Simon Fraser.
The Thunderwolves fell to Western Colorado 26-22, were defeated by Colorado Mesa 37-0 and lost to Colorado School of Mines, 24-17.
Chadron State has defeated all three opponents that were victories over the Thunderwolves. CSC's only remaining duals are on Saturday against the Thunderwolves and on Thursday, February 15, in Golden, Colorado against Simon Fraser.
In the Eagles victory over Adams State a week ago, multiple CSC wrestlers were out due to sickness. Head Coach Brett Hunter said his team is healthy and ready for tomorrow's dual.
