LITCHFIELD PARK, Ariz. -- The Chadron State College women's golf team began its 2024 schedule with a sixth-place finish at the SMSU Spring Invitational in Litchfield Park, Arizona on Monday and Tuesday.

After shooting a 322 (+34) during round one, the Eagles improved to shoot a 311 (+23) during round two to finish at 633 (+57). Missouri Western State and Western New Mexico tied for the team title by firing a 599 (+23).

Individually,
Jordan Grasis and
Kinsey Smith both placed in the top 20, finishing 17 and tied 19
th, respectively.

Grasis, a senior from Yuma, Arizona, fired a 77 (+5) on both days to finish 10 over. On Monday, her scorecard had three bogeys, one birdie and a triple bogey. Grasis had two birdies, five bogeys and one double bogey on Tuesday.

Like her teammate, Smith fired a 77 on Monday before shooting an 80 (+8) on Tuesday. Smith, a senior from Windsor, Colorado, had five bogeys, two birdies and one double-bogey during round one. In round two, she recorded three bogeys, one double-bogey and a triple.

Next on the individual leaderboard for CSC was
Brooke Kramer, a senior from Aurora, Colorado. Kramer finished tied 27th after shooting an 83 (+11) on Monday and a 77 (+5) on Tuesday.

Her round one scorecard had two triple-bogeys, six bogeys and one birdie. Kramer's round two scorecard had four birdies, seven bogeys and one double-bogey.

Allison Acosta, a senior from Oro Valley, Arizona, finished with a 164 (+20) to be the final individual to score for the team. Acosta shot an 87 (+15) on Monday before knocking 10 strokes off on Tuesday, shooting a 77 (+5).

Payton Wise finished tied 39
th with a 166 (+22) while individuals
Kenzey Kanno ended tied 33
rd with a 163 (+19) and
Aubree Heinsma shot a 168 (+24) to place 45
th.

After competing at the Wigwam Resort – Red Course the last two days, the Eagles will enter the SMSU Challenge at the Wigwam Resort- Blue Course on Thursday and Friday.
