Another fall followed in the semifinals when Lopez beat Sarah Spataro of Hastings at the 3:51 mark. Lopez fell in the championship to William Jewell's Alexandra Waitsman via a 12-1 tech fall.
Maria Arellano, a redshirt junior from Fresno, California, won the most matches on the day for Chadron State. Undeterred, Arellano dominated the rest of the way to rise up to third, earning another pin plus two tech falls and a forfeit victory.
