Petersen Scores 18 in Loss to Grizzlies

ALAMOSA, Colo.  — Chadron State led by a point after the first quarter, but Adams State took back the momentum after that, defeating the Eagles 78-52 in Alamosa this Saturday.

While the first quarter was close, the Eagles led for most of it with their biggest lead being by six points. McKenzi Petersen scored 10 of her 18 and half of CSC 20 points in the first quarter for the Eagles. Ella Moser and Dreanna Jackson helped out by each hitting a three-pointer in the first four minutes.

The Eagles led 20-19 going into the second, but Adams State came out ready for the second quarter, taking a six-point lead in the first three minutes and outscoring the Eagles 29-11. Once the Grizzlies gained this momentum leading into half, they continued to outscore the Eagles through the third and fourth quarters.

The Grizzlies outscored CSC shooting 41.4% from the field, 25.8% from the three-point range and 75% from the free throw line, while the Eagles shot 36.2% from the field, 21.7% from the three-point range and 62.5% from the free throw line.
